Hello again!
We at the Rock Island Arsenal Club are well into planning our up-coming wedding season and what an exciting time it is! When I meet with our brides, I am asked so many questions about the proper way to plan and execute a wedding ceremony and reception. I am also asked how to handle the sticky etiquette problems that seem to haunt these special events. I am often asked certain questions, so I thought that I would address some issues that surface the most frequently.
One of the first major hurdles in planning a wedding and reception is the decision concerning invitations. So much etiquette is involved around such a small piece of paper! One needs to do quite a bit of research to make certain that the invitations are proper in every aspect. The invitation sets the tone of the wedding. If a formal, engraved invitation is issued, then one should be certain that the wedding and reception will also be formal. If the invitation is more informal, then the wedding and reception will also be informal.
It is not necessary to have a formal wedding reception in order to have a lovely wedding reception. One can have a perfectly lovely and fun wedding reception that echoes the personalities of the wedded couple. Many couples wish to have fun on their special day and incorporate out-door games into their reception.
Well, I hope that you are busy planning your special day-and don't forget to have fun while you put all your details in order!
Until next time,
Greta Chaney
