Hello again!

What lovely days we have had lately!  I can definitely tell that the wedding season is upon us.  Delightful weather makes me think of spending more time outdoors enjoying the sunshine and breezes of this time of year.  I often wonder why more weddings and receptions don't take place out of doors, especially during the spring and summer.

One does not have to go indoors for any event, especially celebrations like weddings.  One does, however, need to do much planning if one is to have an outdoor event.  Some things that you may want to think about are the bare necessities that are important for any event to be a success.  The most important item to consider is the comfort and well-being of one's guests.  Remember that you will need to address some things that you have taken for granted at indoor events.  You may want to have your outdoor event close to some type of enclosure or tent for a last-minute retreat in case of inclimate weather.  Indoor bathrooms are a better choice than the portable bathrooms that one may rent.  If soft earth is a problem, you will need to rent portable sidewalks.  If you plan to have your reception outdoors, you will need to secure a caterer who will bring all the necessary food, serving and kitchen items to the location of your reception.  You may need a generator or two for large kitchen equipment.

All of this talk of bathrooms, large kitchen equipment and generators can seem daunting!   When considering an outdoor celebration of any kind, please remember that oft times the more simple, the better.  Why not the sound of nature as your processional and recessional music?  Why not a lovely picnic for your reception dinner?

From the simplest to the most complicated, almost anything-and anyplace-is a possibility for your wedding ceremony and reception.  It all just takes a little planning!
