Davenport Bridal Expo
2/4/2004
Written by Davenport Jaycee Bridal Expo,
The Davenport Jaycee Bridal Expo was held on January 31, 2004 at the Davenport River Center. This is the largest annual wedding event in the Quad City area. Vendors come from all over to talk to the brides and display (and give away!) samples of their work. To the right is a picture from above one HALF of the expo room. This event is huge! |
One vendor had girls in wedding attire walking the crowds and passing out flowers. The Younkers registry table was giving away free picture frames to brides who stopped by! All of the candy vendors were out in full force giving us samples of everything from mints to chocolates, truffles to (the most amazing!) chocolate covered strawberries. There were even a few healthy snacks in the mix. |
There were also some amazing wedding cakes on display. Le Cake had a wide variety of designs at their table that had amazing detail. How do they make flowers look so real with just frosting? |
After all of those cake samples and sugary treats I was ready for something to drink. Bridges Inc Catering saved the day with their beautiful fountain of punch. The fountain was so pretty I didn't want to disturb it, but I'm glad I did - their punch recipe is great! |
I was now ready to check out some photographers. There were so many at the expo with their best work on display, we are very lucky to have such a wide selection here in the Quad Cities! I stopped to talk with Michael's Studio, shown here, and with Cameo Photo, shown at the bottom of this page. |
Next stop was the Iris Garden from Rock Island. Mitch and Xochi were so friendly and their flowers were AMAZING! I am a little biased here since they are doing my wedding, but after seeing their display I am sure everything is going to be perfect. |
In the next row was Lynn from Clazzy Designs. If you stopped by the Mock Reception in the River Center you know what a talented decorator she is. She made a huge, industrial-style room seem elegant and cozy (picture at the bottom). Her booth was also done up very well with some of the wedding items she has available for rent, including arches, cake stands (one of the most unique stands I've seen with a shelf for each layer of the cake), candles and candle holders, card boxes, and much more. Not to mention her beautiful flower arrangements. If you are still looking for any of these things, make sure you stop by Clazzy Designs in the Village of East Davenport - she has everything! |
If you missed the expo this year, make sure you check it out in 2005!
